We
see an amazing amount of Land Cruisers in our shop and one issue
all have in common are battery cables. Most of them are just junk!
The original OEM cables were good and had a decent service life
but on most all Cruisers from 1997 back, that service life is long
over. Many trucks have the wrong terminals and scary homemade cables
that make us wonder how it even made it to the shop! This makes
no sense! Why challenge an old electrical system and get left on
the side of the road?
The off-the-shelf battery cables are of low quality and are not
heavy duty enough for the Land Cruiser. The OEM cables are very
expensive and difficult to obtain and even they are not the best
possible option for your truck. We have designed the best possible
cables for your truck made out of the best possible materials. They
will last longer than your truck!
The cables themselves are either #4 or 1/0 marine grade are listed
to UL1426, ABYC and USCG approved and makes an excellent replacement
or upgrade to existing Cruiser related wiring. The Type 3 stranding
and tinned copper in conjunction with a cable insulation specifically
designed to withstand the harsh marine and off road elements mean
a long-lasting, reliable wire which will outperform common cabling.
It just does not get any better than this.
The lugs are heavy wall copper that are tinned to provide the
best possible current flow and resistance to corrosion. The lugs are
crimped onto the cable using an industrial crimper. This provides a
better contact than solder and provides much greater vibration
resistance.
To seal the lugs onto the cable, we use thick-walled, adhesive-lined
shrink wrap. This provides a perfect seal and will prevent corrosion
for the life of the cable.
The cables are only as good as the terminals! Our battery terminals
are used for mounting electrical leads to battery terminals on industrial
lift trucks, tractor trucks, off road vehicles and many military
applications for the US Army, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard. The
basic shape style is for A26 battery posts. Mil spec battery terminals
featuring a thick lead body and 3/8 bolt to attach any accessory
needed. Both bolts are reversible to allow for an easier installation.
With each cable kit we provide a small assortment of crimp and
seal connectors to facilitate the other nonstock battery connections
you may have and also a length of fusible wire to use as needed.
Mil Spec battery terminals with all kits and OEM fusible links are
included as well on late FJ40, FJ60, FJ62 and FZJ 80s. We modify
the OEM fusible links to fit the Mil Spec terminals. A full set
of instructions comes with each kit and can also be downloaded
here. Last but not least you get a really cool sticker; worth
the price alone!
Your cables are only as good as your battery and your battery
is only as good as the tray it sits on. Why mess around? Hands down

Custom Cables:
We try to offer cable kits to fit most applications available or
common in North America. There is no way we can offer cables for
every possible combo of Cruiser and motor out there! Also, many
folks want/need winch leads as well. We are happy to build all of
this to your specifications and it really does not cost all that
much.
We use 1/0 for all of the mains and #4 for the secondarys both positive
and negative. We can supply size of cable as required but I think
you will find the 1/0 and #4 covers most all applications. The custom
cables use the exact type of materials that fit cables use.

specify the color shrink you want on both ends, red, black and clear

FJ40:
The FJ 40 kit will work on ALL FJ40s with stock motors and just
about any type of battery you have. Late model, Jan/79 and later,
kits come with the OEM link modified to fit the Mil Spec terminals.
You MUST let us know you have a late model truck to get the OEM
link! Early model trucks can sue the fusible link wire and crimp
and seal connectors provided in the kit to build a new OEM style
link.
BJ40:
The BJ 40 kit will work on All BJ40s with stock motors and just about
any type of battery the diesel will have. You might want to take a
quick measurement of your cables to double check as I am sure you know
diesel stuff can be wierd. We patterened these off of a 8/80 BJ41 RHD
but have also installed them on LHD BJ40/42s.

The FJ60/62 kit will work on ALL FJ60/62s with stock motors and
just about any type of battery you have provided the terminals are
in the stock configuration. FJ60 kits come with the new OEM link
and a length of fusible wire to fit the Mil Spec terminals. The
FJ62 comes with a super-cool modified fusible link that will work
with just about any battery you have. The link takes a while to
make so we charge more! You MUST let us know what type of truck
you have to get the correct OEM link!

the stock configuration. This means that 1992 and newer FZJ80s will

kit. Eventually we will provide kits to fit those trucks. Kits come
with the OEM link modified to fit the Mil Spec terminals.
